The Professor Uría Foundation organises this seminar in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Sport through the General Directorate for Cultural Heritage and Fine Arts. It will take place in the auditorium of Uría Menéndez’s Madrid office from 12 April to 14 June 2023.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Romana Sadurska, Executive Vice Chair of the Professor Uría Foundation;  Carlos González-Barandiarán y de Muller, Deputy Director-General of Registries and Documentation of Historical Heritage of the Ministry of Culture and Sport; and Agustín González García,  trustee of the Professor Uría Foundation.

We were privileged to have an exceptional speaker at the first session of this year’s seminar: Antonio Muñoz Molina. The acclaimed author and member of the Royal Spanish Academy gave a captivating lecture titled “For the love of art”.

Mariano Magide, a partner at Uría Menéndez, then gave a lecture on the legal framework governing public cultural institutions. He set out the main legal and management challenges these institutions face, in light of the preamble to the regulations of the Prado Museum and the Reina Sofia Museum, as a prelude to what will be covered over the course of this year’s seminar.

The day was rounded off with a cocktail and the chance for attendees to exchange thoughts on the session.
